Construction has begun: Solar and Batteries at State Coal Mine.
Minister Lily D’Ambrosio, Bass Coast Mayor Pamela Rothfield, Parks Victoria representatives, Friends of the State Coal Mine and other friends helped the Energy Innovation Co-op celebrate the beginning of construction works at the State Coal Mine on Tuesday 16th Oct.
The project will put 91kW solar PV and 41kWh battery storage adjacent to the historic mine site, providing clean power to the tourist venue’s workings. Income earned by the Co-op from the sale of power to Parks Vic, will support the Southern CORE Fund’s assistance to community groups. We are all very pleased! It has been a long haul to get here!
Thanks to everyone who assisted, particularly Project Manager John Coulter ably assisted by board Director George Fairlie, Chair Moragh Mackay and Treasurer Bruce Hydon, plus Bass Coast Shire, Bass Coast Community Foundation, Ausnet services and of course, funding from the Victorian government’s New Energy Jobs Fund!
